This is a Ugandan professional accountancy course administered by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU). The course has a hybrid of both international and local aspect. Just as with ACCA, the course is highly competitive within the East African Region and the rest of the world. To enroll also one needs to have a minimum of two credits at A-level and five credits at O-level, Mathematics and English inclusive. It also acts as a bridge to those who want to change their career from non-accounts related background to accountancy and business related areas. Similarly upon completion one can choose to work in accountancy, tax advisory, audit, investment specialist, business management and other consulting disciplines with a local touch. For those coming direct from senior six or with diplomas after completion of the course you are eligible to apply for a master’s programme if you want without necessarily having to go back and do a degree first. It’s pocket friendly than ACCA
