The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) course provides students with globally recognized accounting knowledge, skills and professional values essential for building successful careers and knowledge enhancement. The course is internationally respected for its quality of professional accountants who are multi-dimensional. To enrol one needs a minimum of two(2) principle passes at A-level and five(5) credits at O-level including Mathematics and English. There is a maximum of 13 papers to be attempted out of 15. Exams are set by ACCA UK but managed by British council in-country. There are four (4) examinations sittings annually in March, June, September and December.
Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) course is a local profession for accountants more tailored to meet the needs of the local environment. It’s responsible for regulating all the professional accountants in Uganda. It’s also respected for the quality of its accountants who are rich in both national and international accounting issues. To enrol one needs a minimum of two(2) principle passes at A-level and five(5) credits at O-level including Mathematics and English. There is a maximum of 18 papers. Exams are set by ICPAU and managed in-country. There are three (3) examinations sittings annually in May, August and November.
